Introducing The Thrive Model

A Relational Framework for Healing, Growth and Change

The Thrive Model is a holistic, relationally driven practice framework designed for children’s homes. It brings together five evidence-informed approaches, Trauma-Informed Care, PACE, Solution-Focused Practice, Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), and Restorative Practice, to create a cohesive model that supports children, families, and professionals to move from crisis to connection, and from surviving to thriving.

At its heart, Thrive is about building safety through relationships, restoring hope, and empowering change. It equips teams to respond to complex behaviours with compassion and clarity, while maintaining high expectations and strong boundaries. Thrive promotes:

  • Emotional safety and regulation through trauma-informed principles and PACE.
  • Collaborative problem-solving using solution-focused techniques.
  • Respectful resistance to harmful behaviours via NVR strategies.
  • Repair and accountability through restorative conversations.
  • A strengths-based culture that nurtures resilience and belonging.

Whether working with children in our care, Thrive offers a consistent, values-led approach that aligns practice with purpose. It’s not just a model, it’s a mindset for creating environments where children and adults can heal, grow, and succeed together.
